In 2022, the community was invited to provide feedback on the preferred option, a Diverging Diamond Interchange, an innovative traffic light intersection that would have been the first of its kind in NSW.

During the consultation period, Transport for NSW received overwhelming feedback from the community around the complexity, unfamiliarity and safety of the design. Key stakeholders also raised concern around impacts to Bicentennial and Bressington parks.

In response, Transport developed a new design, a more traditional traffic light intersection that reduced impacts to the parks.

A Review of Environmental Factors (REF) has now also been prepared to identify potential environmental and community impacts from the design and proposed mitigation measures.

Transport are inviting feedback on the new design and REF until Sunday 18 January 2026 11:59PM.
