Overview

The draft Sydney Olympic Park Master Plan 2050 (Master Plan 2050) builds on the 2050 Place Vision and Strategy (the Vision) and Strategic Place Framework which envisions Sydney Olympic Park as Sydney’s Beating Green Heart: a place energised with everyday life, is Country-first and nature-positive, and is where Sydney comes to play.

Master Plan 2050 will deliver an incredible range of facilities, services, and spaces in support of the population projected to be living and visiting Sydney Olympic Park every day, once a year, or once in a lifetime. Collectively, the initiatives of the Master Plan 2050 will support a vibrant and liveable community which is well-connected to greater Sydney, making Sydney Olympic Park an attractive destination to live, work and play.

Sydney Olympic Park is on the traditional lands of the Wann clan, known as the Wann-gal or Wangal.

How was the Master Plan 2050 developed?

How we got here

The Master Plan 2050 has been developed through stakeholder and community consultation.

The new vision for Sydney Olympic Park is to be Sydney’s Beating Green Heart - a place that is energised with everyday life, is country-first and nature-positive and is where Sydney comes to play.

Read more on the Place Vision page here.

The Strategic Place Framework forms the strategic planning basis of the Master Plan. The Place Framework starts to identify where in Sydney Olympic Park the aspirations in the Vision will be realised on the ground. This work is then developed into precinct controls in the Master Plan 2050.

View the Strategic Place Framework here.

The plan is now being exhibited from 28 October and closing 29 November (5pm).

Master Plan 2050 reflects what we heard during community and stakeholder engagement and sets the conditions for place priorities to be realised by 2050.
