Site Works in Sydney Olympic Park

Site works for maintenance and repairs happen from time to time in Sydney Olympic Park. This page provides information on projects of high interest to our community or where there is an expectation for disruption.

This page does not offer an exhaustive list of the various maintenance activities occurring daily in the normal operations of managing and caring for our places and parklands.

Roads within the Park may be closed to support events and site works. Up to date road closures can be found on our interactive map by selecting the road closures icon in the top left-hand side menu and selecting a date.

Olympic Boulevard, next to Cathy Freeman Park - plumbing repairs

Sydney Water are doing repair works on plumping and utilities along Olympic Boulevard.

A fenced area (shown in blue) along the pedestrian pathway is now installed adjacent to Cathy Freeman Park and Olympic Boulevard. This site will remain in place until approximately 31 July 2025.

Access to the pedestrian pathway alongside the area remains open and public toilet amenities remain in operation at Cathy Freeman Park. Road closures will be in place as required and parking spaces nearby will be temporarily removed until repairs are complete.

Please note: these works may cause unusual smells or odours.

PLR2 - River Walk / Louise Sauvage Pathway

Parramatta Light Rail 2 enabling works continue along the River Walk/Louise Sauvage Pathway and adjacent to Hill Road and Wentworth Point. Works currently being undertaken are outlined below and on the map.

  • Temporary access road construction
  • Installation of site compounds, site fencing, hoarding and worker amenities facility
  • General earthworks and excavations
  • Delivery of materials and stockpiling
  • Utility potholing and investigation works within roadways and verges
  • Installation of survey control points and relocation of existing survey marks
  • Vegetation clearing, including removing trees, shrubs, stumps and debris within construction areas
  • Temporary storm water and sewer drainage and utility relocations and utility connections for site amenities
  • Removal of the footbridge at Newington River Walk to enable haul road and rock causeway construction

Brickpit Ring Walk temporary closure

Monday 16 June – Friday 4 July

Interpretive signage at the Brickpit Ring Walk is being refreshed and updated. For the safety of workers and users, the Ring Walk will be closed while these upgrades are completed.
