Neighbours Nurturing Nature - Park Care
The Neighbours Nurturing Nature Volunteer Project is a way to help the threatened and endangered flora and fauna of Sydney Olympic Park to thrive.
Assist in creating and supporting habitat in practical ways. The area we're working on is Teal Pond at the southern end of the Louise Sauvage Pathway behind Newington.
The meeting location is the lawn area of Teal Pond (-33.845956, 151.052430). Please follow the coordinates to this location as the map pin is quite a distance away.
This week we'll be planting! All the space that we've been working on will now be topped off with new native plants.
Volunteers will be supported by the Park Rangers from Visitor Programs. Don't worry if you're not sure about how to do a task, we'll be there to guide you along the way.
Please bring a hat, sunscreen, water and wear enclosed shoes, long sleeved shirt and long pants. Weeding tools and gloves will be supplied, but bring your own gloves if you have them.
Please arrive at 9am so the group can be inducted to the site together. This is a requirement of volunteering on the site.
