Caring for Country
This introductory session aims to bring volunteers from the local community together to listen, share and learn about First Nations Peoples connection to Country and support Murama Healing Space in creating a native food garden.
The 3-hour immersive experience will explore how Indigenous Australians draw upon their laws, knowledge, customs to care for Country and how Country is linked to wellbeing. Participants will be encouraged to incorporate this thinking into future Park Care initiatives.
This is an opportunity for you to connect not only with the place but also with others in the local community who are like minded and have a passion for the environment. Share your own knowledge and learn from others - it's all about the sharing of creativity, ideas and supporting each other.
This is the first of four sessions this year to focus on Caring for Country.
