Fauna Survey

As the Neighbours Nurturing Nature Volunteer Project starts to take shape, our first task is to collect baseline data that we'll be able to refer to in the future to evaluate how effective our efforts have been.

The area we're looking at is Teal Pond at the end of the Louise Sauvage Pathway behind Newington. We will use predefined quadrats and solid methodology to gather our data which you'll be shown on the day.

The meeting location is the lawn area of Teal Pond (-33.845956, 151.052430)

Please bring a hat, sunscreen, water and wear enclosed shoes. Also bring binoculars if you have them to assist you in correct identification of animals.

The survey area is flat and this slow paced activity is suitable for those with a degree of patience!

Please arrive at 9am so the group can be inducted to the site together. This is a requirement of volunteering on the site.
