Volunteer Information Session

4 May 2023

If you’ve thought about having a go at volunteering but are not sure if it’s for you, join this information session to have all your questions answered.

Sydney Olympic Park through its Neighbours Nurturing Nature Volunteer Project offers many ways to be a volunteer and improve the environment for threatened and endangered species.

Whether you like getting your hands dirty, being creative, or collecting data, there’s an opportunity for you.

We currently offer:

  • Park Care (similar to Bushcare) that looks after a small patch of green space on the margins of Sydney Olympic Park
  • Clean-up events (similar to Clean-Up Australia Day) in known problem areas
  • Recycling of fabric into other useful items
  • Fauna surveys

This year we will also be including:

  • Connecting to Country session with indigenous knowledge holders
  • Citizen Science projects
  • Volunteer education sessions
  • Habitat enhancement projects (bird boxes, insect hotels)
  • Community art project
  • Biodiversity focused photography project

This online information session is FREE.

After the presentation there will be an opportunity to ask questions.

Join us online on Thursday 11 May at 7:00pm - 8:00pm via Teams
