What is happening?

The WRAMS recycled water network will experience an up to 24-hour shut down to facilitate upgrades to the piping. This is expected to take place from 4 May 2026 from 5am to 5 May 2026 4:59am.

Will my water supply be disrupted during the works?

We will do everything we can to resolve the outage as quickly as possible and will update our website once the works are completed and services are restored.

How do I use my toilet during the outage?

Buckets or containers filled with water from taps/sinks can be used for manual toilet flushing, or to top up the toilet cistern.

How long will the outage take?

I’m a Building Manager, what should I do?

  • Advise occupants of the outage.
  • Advise occupants to use buckets or containers filled with water from taps/sinks for manual toilet flushing, or to top up the toilet cistern.
  • Investigate whether your building has the option to switch over to potable water.
  • Familiarise yourself with the location of the temporary toilets [map of locations on mySOP]

How will we be kept informed?

Changes or updates will be posted on mySOP Engage. Follow this page to stay up to date with updates as they become available. Once the works are complete, an update will also be posted to the Sydney Olympic Park Authority website.

What should I do if I experience issues after the water is restored?

When water is first restored, you may notice intermittent water flow due to air in the pipes. It may take several flushes of the toilet to be back to normal pressure. Toilet water may also appear discoloured for a few hours after restoration.

If you think your water should have been restored, but is not, check mySOP Engage to confirm water has been restored in your area.

If you are in a multi tenanted building and are still having issues, please contact your building manager for further updates.

Will events or venue bookings be affected?

Venues throughout Sydney Olympic Park have various contingencies in place for the duration of the outage. If you are concerned about a booking or event, please contact the host venue directly.

Is there a risk of potable water contamination after the outage?

No, the potable water system and recycled water network are completely separate systems.

What contingency plans are in place if the outage lasts longer than expected?

The contractors engaged have allowed contingency in their program of works. Works are expected to be completed within the 24-hour period. Changes or updates will be posted on mySOP Engage.

How will temporary amenities be maintained and cleaned?

Cleaning contractor Quayclean will ensure all temporary facilities throughout the Park are regularly serviced throughout the outage.
